Alan Mellor

Biography:

Software Developer since 1981

My USP is that I can craft highly technical software, and then be right at home enthusing a non-tech audience about why our software will solve their problem. I've found this quite rare in techies.

I have enough entrepreneurial flair to know that software that doesn't sell is just a hobby, not a business. Features that are never used are just a sunk cost.

I am a craftsman who genuinely believes that if my software cannot be read, tested, and extended, it isn't ready. I also understand deadlines - and the value of 'technical debt' in hitting them.

I draw on 25 years commercial software experience in real time industrial, military, mobile, 3D games, enterprise monitoring and web applications. I have a track record of learning new technologies to production standard.
